The DEİK/Turkey-Kazakhstan Business Council was established in 1991 under the umbrella of the Eurasia Business Councils. Kazakhstan is one of the most investment and business-friendly countries in the Eurasian Region. The main purpose of the Business Council is to play its part in the advancement of economic and trade relations between the two countries, in the improvement of the profile of Turkish private sector companies in Kazakhstan and in ensuring their participation in strategic projects.
An important area of activities of the Council is the information of the Turkish private sector about investment projects planned in Kazakhstan in the context of the State Programme for Accelerated Industrial and Innovative Development, and support for interested Turkish companies. In October 2010, KAZNEX INVEST, the National Export and Investment Agency of Kazakhstan, which is linked to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, and DEİK signed a Protocol of Understanding on cooperation. Following this accord, the Council and KAZNEX INVEST have been organising meetings between representatives of the Turkish private sector and the relevant authorities of the counterpart country to discuss investment projects.
