DEİK'S LAST STOP IN AFRICA WAS MADAGASCAR

Last Business Forum within the African visit led by President of Turkish Republic Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took place in Antananarivo, Madagascar. Turkish businessmen discovered different investment opportunities in various sectors including infrastructure, energy, production and contractor. More than 600 Madagascan and Turkish businessmen attended B2B meetings as part of the Forum; during the meetings Madagascan businessmen were especially interested in Turkish companies in the sectors of construction, energy, textile and agriculture.

Hosted by DEİK, Madagascar-Turkey Business Forum was attended by President of Turkish Republic Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Republic of Madagascar Hery Rajaonarimampianina, Minister of Economy of Turkish Republic Nihat Zeybekci, Minister of Tourism and Consumption of Republic of Madagascar Armand Tazafy, DEİK's President Ömer Cihad Vardan and President of Madagascar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brice Marie Jocelyn Andrianomenjanahary on 25th of January.

President of Turkish Republic Recep Tayyip Erdoğanstated he is the first Turkish President to visit Madagascar and the cooperation between two countries is not limited to only politics and economy but to a large spectrum of subjects including sustainability and environment. Madagascar is taking a huge leap in development yet this effort depends to the country's effort in infrastructure development. Turkey has a lot experience to share in terms economic development and industrialization and it is ready to work jointly with Madagascar. Trade volume between two countries is much below expectation and potential thus the visit will ensure to uplift trade relations. He invited Turkish entrepreneurs and businessmen to invest in Madagascar.

President of Republic of Madagascar Hery Rajaonarimampianinathanked President Erdoğan for their tremendous support in the Madagascar's development. In regard with win-win principle, private sector will play a key role to develop economic and commercial relations between two countries. He claimed to accelerate the process of facilitating business between Turkish and Madagascan business men. Madagascar has a lot to learn from Turkey especially on the subjects of PPP and public administration. Furthermore, he invited Turkish entrepreneurs and businessmen to invest in Madagascar.

Over 600 Turkish and Madagascan businessmen attended B2B meetings within the Forum. During meetings, Madagascan business people were especially interested in companies in the fields of construction, construction supplies, energy, textile and agriculture.
