CEOE Vice-President Juan Pablo Lazaro, Spanish Chamber of Commerce Manager Inmaculada Riera, Investment and Trade Manager at the Ministry of Economy of Spain, Directorate General of Manager Jose Luis Kaiser, DEİK/Turkey-Spain Business Council President Zeynep Bodur Okyay and Ricardo Chocarro, CEO of Siemens-Gamesa investing in sustainable energy in Turkey have addressed in the meeting held on September 28, 2017 by Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organizations (CEOE) within the scope of visit of the EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik to Spain with the participations of the representatives of 100 companies. 

 

EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Ömer Çelik, delivering a speech in the meeting, assessed the economic dimension of EU-Turkey relations and trade and investment relations with Spain. Minister Çelik, raising a concern that the direct investments worth of 8 billion USD of Spanish business people in Turkey is a clear indication of the trust and confidence of the Spanish business world they placed in Turkey's economy up until today, appealed them to further increase their investments especially in areas such as energy, infrastructure, information communication technologies and healthcare technologies.

 

A round table meeting, again hosted by CEOE, realized on September 28, 2017. DEİK/Turkey-Spain Business Council President Zeynep Bodur Okyay, TİM Member of Board of Directors Murat Akyüz, İstanbul Chamber of Commerce Chairman İbrahim Çağlar and Adana Chamber of Industry Chairman Zeki Kıvanç have accompanied the Minister Ömer Çelik in the meeting. The representatives of 9 Spanish corporations having investments in Turkey and 4 Turkish investor corporations in Spain have convened in the meeting in where Turkey-Spain Business Council Co-President Juan Canals Oliva, Spain Chamber of Commerce Manager Inmaculada Riera, Turkish-Spanish Chamber of Commerce Chairman Esther Gonzalez, Commercial Council of the Embassy of Republic of Turkey in Madrid Fatma Kayhan and the Representative of Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency in Spain Yasemen Korukçu were among the participants. While the cooperation opportunities among the relevant organizations of both countries were discussed in the meeting; enterprises with reciprocal investments and sustaining business connections in Turkey and Spain exchanged information regarding their current experiences and prospective plans.
