INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN ALBANIA WERE EVALUATED
Albania Investment Seminar took place in Istanbul on January 27, 2017 with the cooperation of DEİK/Turkey-Albania Business Council and Albania Investment Development Agency (AIDA). Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Entrepreneurship of Albania has also attended the meeting.
Investment projects and other business opportunities in Albania have been evaluated by Turkish company representatives from the sectors of infrastructure, energy, mining, textile, tourism and communication. Albanian government now offers incentives to strategic sectors such as energy, mining, transportation, tourism, agriculture and fishery due to latest enacted law.
Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Entrepreneurship of Albania said Turkey's relation with Albania in terms of political, economic, cultural is perfect. Albanian citizens living in Turkey play a key role in the progress of relations between two countries. Turkey is the fourth major investor in Albania and trade relations are yet growing. Albania is the fastest growing country in the region with 3.4% growth rate.
DEİK/Turkey-Albania Business Council President Mehmet Usta, stated that Albania offers a great opportunity to foreign investors via its legal framework and economy. Visa procedures and free trade agreement between two countries enable a great access to Albania and its neighbor markets. Nevertheless, Turkish banks' and investors' presence in Albania create an incremental advantage and called out for new investments.
