ASIA-PACIFIC BUSINESS COUNCILS GATHERED WITH REGIONAL DIPLOMATIC MISSION AGENTS

Hosted by DEİK/Turkey-Asia Pacific Business Councils, the business dinner, gathered DEİK Regional Business Councils' Chairmen, members of Executive Board and regional diplomatic mission agents on May 8, 2017.

20 diplomats from 19 Asia-Pacific Region countries and over 60 members of Executive Board participated in the working dinner to discuss recent developments in the region and business-investment opportunities. During the dinner, diplomatic mission agents and business people exchanged views on the recent progress.

DEİK President Ömer Cihad Vardan gave the opening speech at the dinner and he emphasized that DEİK is striving to develop and strengthen economic relations with countries in the region through its DEİK's 19 Business Councils in the region. Within this scope, DEİK displays a versatile approach to the economic and strategic investments in the region and continued his words by "Trade and investment opportunities in the Asia-Pacific Region are vital for Turkey's economic future and its goals".

Another speaker at the business dinner was the DEİK/Turkey-Asia Pacific Business Councils Coordinators' Chairman,  Murat Kolbaşı, who also serves as the DEİK/Turkey-China Business Council Chairman. He stated that in 2016, the Asia-Pacific trade volume is the highest in the world with the value of 74,2 trillion US Dollars. In 2009, Asia-Pacific region housed 28% of globe's middle class whereas it is expected to be 66% by 2030.
