The President arrives in Guinea, the last leg of his visit to Africa – Turkey-Guinea Business Council established
The President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, from 28 February to 3 Mart 2016 paid an official visit to Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria and Guinea. He was accompanied by a delegation of over 130 Turkish businesspeople who used the opportunity to learn about the investment climate in Africa and its business potential.
On his visit to Africa, the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was accompanied by the largest delegation on any state visit this year. The trip led them from Côte d'Ivoire, to Ghana, then to Nigeria and finally to Guinea.
On Thursday, 3 March 2016, DEİK hosted a Business Forum in the Guinean capital Conakry. After bilateral talks between Turkish and Guinean businesspeople, the Turkish President Erdoğan and the President of the Republic of Guinea, Alpha Conde, came together to sign 9 different treaties, among them the agreement on the establishment of the DEİK/Turkey-Guinea Business Council. The other accords covered the areas of tourism, aviation services, medicine and health services, military training, science, electrical power, mining and the protection of the environment.
The agreement on the establishment of the Business Council was signed by DEİK President Ömer Cihad Vardan on behalf of DEİK, and by CPEG President Hadja Gnouma Traoré on behalf of his organisation, the Confédération Patronale des Entreprises de Guinée.
