VISIT OF RWANDAN MINISTER OF CABINET AFFAIRS TO DEİK
The roundtable meeting with Rwandan Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Rwanda Development Committee Chief Executive Officer Clare Akamanzi was held in İstanbul and hosted by Nail Olpak, President of DEİK, on 25 September 2017. There were high-level representatives of firms operating in a variety of sectors such as footwear, furniture and construction. Additionally, the Shoe Industry Association and Rwandan Ankara Ambassador Williams Nkurunziza attended the meeting.
The Rwandan Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Rwanda Development Committee Chief Executive Officer Clare Akamanzi emphasized that Turkey is a crucial country for Rwanda at the point of economic and commercial cooperation with its dynamic economy. The minister stressed that Rwanda's customs union and possible cooperation can be a gateway not only to Rwanda, but also to East Africa. Akamanzi is particularly interested in the development of commercial relations and investments between Turkey and Rwanda, especially in the furniture and footwear sectors. Following the opening speeches of the meeting, the companies introduced themselves and negotiations were held.
