Born in 1961 in Hatay, Turkey, Fuat Tosyalı started his professional life in 1967 as an apprentice in his father's workplace when he also started primary school. Fuat Tosyalı founded Tosyalı Metal A.Ş together with the members of his family. After Tosyalı Metal, Tosyalı Demir Çelik A.Ş ve Tosçelik Profil ve Sac End. A.Ş Companies were also put into operation.
Tosyalı Holding completed its flat steel investment, the first flat steel investment of the private sector in Turkey, which it started under the leadership of Fuat Tosyalı in 2008, with 1 billion dollars of budget, despite all the hardships posed by the global crisis, in a record-breaking time and launched it for the benefits of Turkey with a ceremony held on 6 February 2010 inaugurated by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
After flat steel, the Holding started the world's biggest steel pipe production investment within the field, established at once with 250 million dollars of budget in 2011, in order to increase profitability and to manufacture the products with high added value that would appeal to the end users, and it started to conduct pipe exports to more than 70 countries having completed the investment in September 2013.
Planning to make investments through its objective of being a regional power in the steel sector, Tosyalı initiated an iron and steel investment in Algeria, while the above-mentioned investments were ongoing, at the end of 2011, within the framework of the African Market strategy, which investment was the biggest iron and steel investment of the said country, and provided the complex with 1.250.000 Ton/year capacity of iron products for the construction sector to the country by spending 500 million dollars in June 2013 with a ceremony where the prime ministers of both countries took part.
The company entitled Tosyalı Iron Steel Algerie presently continues its production with full capacity and with substantial success.
Being the banner-bearing flat steel and steel pipe producer of the private sector of Turkey, Tosyalı Holding is growing toward its target of being a regional leader by carrying out productions in 3 countries with 16 facilities in numerous segments of the iron and steel sector.
Tosyalı Holding purchased Zelijezara AD Niksic in 2012, the biggest steel production facility of former Yugoslavia in Montenegro.
The company that is specialized in the engineering steel and steel with alloy is selling entire range of its products to the machinery and equipment manufacturers in Europe.
In addition, Tosyalı Holding founded a company entitled TOSYALI-TOYO A.Ş with Toyo Kohan, one of the leading companies of Japan; with high technology in the tinned-galvanized and film coated steel products, thanks to its flat steel production capacity and regional market power. Having merged their unique powers through this partnership, both companies will have substantially potent market share in the Europe-Middle East and North Africa market in quality steel products.
Being the Chairman of Marmara Sinai Ticari Yatirimlar A.Ş, separately from the Holding Companies, Fuat Tosyalı was honored with Meritorious Service Medal by TBMM (Turkish Parliament) in 2007 because of his investments in Turkey and his social responsibility projects.
Deemed worthy of the "Man of the Year" award at "VIP Rostrum of Economy" organized by newspaper Dunya in 2007, Fuat Tosyalı also received the "Investor of the Year" award in 2010 once again in the "VIP Rostrum of Economy" of Dunya.
Fuat Tosyalı, who gave a conference entitled "Turkey's Economy, Policy, and Steel Sector" in April 2008 at the Management Faculty of American John Hopkins University (JHU), one of the notable universities of the world, was elected to be a member of the JHU Management Faculty.
Fuat Tosyalı was elected to be a Member of the Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Corporate Relations Commission of MUSIAD, one of the significant umbrella organizations of the world of business in Turkey, in the elections conducted in its 21st Ordinary General Assembly Meeting.
Thanks to the exports of the Group that is active in the iron and steel sector to more than 70 countries of the world, Fuat Tosyalı is also carrying out the duties of being the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of the Mediterranean Iron and Non-Iron Metal Exporters, Deputy Chairman of the Iron and Steel Sector Board, Assembly Member of the Turkish Exporters, Member of the Board of Directors of ENVERDER, and Member of the Board of Directors of DEIK.
Fuat Tosyalı is the member of the High Advisory Board at the Iron and Steel Manufacturers Association that represents the iron and steel sector in Turkey.
Fuat Tosyalı has been successfully conducting his duties as a Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tosyalı Holding A.Ş, which is one of Turkey's leading companies and taking place among the top 20 in the industrial enterprises and which, along with its subsidiaries, employ 3000 employees domestically and 1200 employees abroad, as well as of all its subsidiaries since their incorporation.
