Mahsum Altunkaya was born in 1971 in the Midyat district of Mardin. He successfully expanded the company's operations in the shipping sector into many other sectors, including food, health, consumer durables, agriculture, husbandry and energy. This was achieved owing to his entrepreneurial spirit. Altunkaya also encouraged his team to adopt entrepreneurial and innovative approaches.

Today, the Chief Executive Officer at Altunkaya Group of Companies, a Gaziantep-based company which is one of Türkiye's largest industrial organizations, Mahsum Altunkaya has played a key role in ensuring the company's continued growth and success, with a revenue exceeding 20 billion TRY and almost 2,000 employees.

In addition to driving growth, Mahsum Altunkaya also focused on corporate development activities, aligning the group companies he managed with global principles relating to going corporate and brand recognition. Mahsum Altunkaya is married with four children.He has held various positions in addition to his positions in Altunkaya Group of Companies, such as Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) Cereals, Legumes, Oily Seeds and Products Sector Board Chair, Southeastern Region Exporters Assembly (GAİB) Cereals, Legumes, Oily Seeds and Products Exporters Union Chair, Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) Board Member and Gaziantep Football Club Vice President.
