Prof Gazi Yiğitbaşı who was born in Afyon in 1965, graduated from Ege University Medical Faculty. He worked as a research assistant at the Otorhinolaryngology Department of Erciyes University Medical Faculty between 1989 and 1993. He received the title of Assistant Professor in 1996, Associate Professor in 1999 and he became a Professor in 2005.

Prof Gazi Yigitbasi who worked as an observant at the Otolaryngology Department of Pittsburg University and as a research specialist at the Head Neck Surgery Department of MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas for 2 years during his academical studies, has 75 scientific articles published in national and international journals.

Among his academic awards; he has the pride to be the lecturer, who provided the most international publications at Erciyes University, also has the first prize in the field of Clinical Translational Research in the scientific contest held by the University of Texas in 2004.

In addition to his academical identity, Yigitbasi who is known with his high management skills, served as the Chief Physician of Izmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital between April 2005 and November 2011. He was awarded with "Outstanding Achievement Award" by Izmir Governorship and also Konak District Governorship for this duty. Assigned to Medipol Mega University Hospital Medical Directorate Responsible Management in November 2011, Prof Yigitbasi, has been the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Medipol University since September 2018. He was appointed as the President of the DEİK Healthcare Business Council in the period of 2018-2020 and received the first prize in the category of "Best member relations and bringing in the most members" in this period. Yigitbasi, currently still a member of the Board of Directors of the Service Importers Association (HİB), has also undertaken the responsibility of being a member of the Executive Board of DEİK since January 2020.
