Born in Bitlis in 1970. He completed his primary and elementary education in Bitlis; high school and university education (Cinema - TV) in Istanbul.

Ümit Kiler is the Deputy Chairman of Kiler Holding which main field of activities are construction, real estate, transportation, shopping mall management, sugar industry and energy. He is also one of the founders and a member of board of trustees of Hikmet Kiler Foundation. In addition to being a member of the board of trustees of Istanbul Medeniyet University, Kiler is still active in various foundations and non-governmental organizations such as TOBB, Betav, Bigiad, Müsiad, İTO, İTB. Kiler is a congress member of Fenerbahçe Sports Club. He is married and has four children.
