DEİK/Türkiye-Japan Business Council was founded in 1986 with the purpose of encouraging Japanese firms to invest in Türkiye and increasing cooperation between Japanese and Turkish firms engaged in the projects in Turkey and third countries.

Within this scope, besides the joint meetings held since the foundation of the Business Council, a joint mission to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan was organized in April 1993. Investment seminars were held in Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo in October 1994. The second joint mission to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia was held in September 1997. The third joint mission was held in Istanbul under the name “The Forum For Turkish-Japanese Business Partnership In Iraq-Contracting and Energy Markets” on July 5th, 2012.

Türkiye’s promotion in Japan is another priority of the Business Council. There have been efforts to promote Turkey in Japanese community through contacts with senior officials visiting Türkiye.
