DEİK/Türkiye-Chile Business Council was established in 2012. In February 2016, a business delegation led by the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, paid an official visit to Chile. It was the first visit of a Turkish President to this country. On the occasion of the event, and in the presence of the two Presidents, Chile’s Industrial Federation SOFOFA (La Sociedad de Fomento Fabril) and DEİK signed a Counterpart Organization Agreement.
